Module 1: Activity 2 - Information Processing Approaches

In this activity, there were three separate tasks to do. The first activity had to do with how much attention we pay to environmental stimuli, thus the purpose of the coin task.

In the second, we were to recall as many letters as possible in 10 seconds. For me, I was able to recall only a few of the letters. However I was able to recall all in the 3rd task, which was to be done in 3 seconds. This was possible because these were recognized as words and were spaced adequately. This indicates that information must have meaning in order for it to be easily processed and committed to the long term memory.
